Throughout the years we have partnered with institutions in order to bring about change in immigration policies. Our utopia would be a world where all the non-profits and all the supporters of immigration reform join under one umbrella and file suit against Congress to make it follow the constitution of the United States. This takes a lot of work and it is undesired by most because without a target the donations would dry up immediately once the beast is defeated. Thus, it is in the best interests of everyone but the alien to keep things in the way it has been for the past fifty years.
We would like to expand opportunity in a real sense. The more access people have to lawyers the more they win their immigration cases so long as it is a lawyer who does good work. Our Mission utilizes a scheme whereby the alien who is incarcerated is able to present his issues to the Court either with the assistance of filling the forms or the grunt work on the casse and ensuring that there are issues available for argument in higher courts. This is where we differ from almost all other persons who assist persons with immigration matters. First of all, we do not recognize the immigration court as a lawful entity. From our perspective, the entire scheme of laws relating to immigration to be illegal and unconstitutional while we do agree that the Congress has the power to issue rules regarding naturaliztion and citizenship, it does not have the authority to order deportations and none is found in the Constitution. This is a power that has been illegally given by the Courts which were created by Congess, to Congress.
Over the past thirty-five years we have fought against the Agency to ensure that rights are protected and laws are obeyed and we have changed the agency and immigration from what it was thirty-five years to what it is today, almost singlehandedly through litigation and more litigation. More is left to be done.
